Learn how to get around the 3ds Max interface and customize it to suit your preferences. Discover how to model different objects using splines, polygons, subdivision surfaces, and freeform sculpting. Then, learn to construct hierarchies, add cameras and lights, and animate with keyframes. Author Aaron F. Ross also takes an in-depth look at materials and texture mapping, as well as options for rendering engines such as Arnold and ART.
Instructor •. Ross is a 3D expert, video producer, author, and teacher. Ross is a video producer, author, and educator. Aaron creates abstract video and computer animation.

Eventually, though, you will run out of sample slots; there are only 24 of them here. Additionally, this doesn't provide any way for you to share materials between scenes, and for both those use cases you'll want to create a material library. And this is a file that has unlimited size; you can store as many materials as you want, and you can load that into any scene you desire.

It's found in the material map browser, and up at the top is a search field, but to the left of that search field is a triangle, and that's a down arrow, and this is kind of secret and hidden, but when you click on that down arrow, you get a very important menu, that allows you to create and save a new material library. So, choose new material library, and then you need to give it a name, and by default it's going to save • Practice while you learn with exercise files. Watch this course anytime, anywhere.
